I felt her move, too!

Last night, as Lane was feeling Mireya move around in her belly, as she always gets to – I’m so jealous – she told me that she felt her from the outside with her hand. I had to try it, so I placed my hand on her belly and waited to feel any kind of movement. After waiting for a minute I felt a little poke. I couldn’t believe it! I actually felt my daughter move!! I kept my hand there to try to feel her move again, and moments later, she moved again, this time a lot more. She seemed to have rolled over or something, because I felt her move across my whole hand, from one side to the other. It was amazing and very special.

The First Snow!

It snowed today for the first time this season. I was sipping my decaf coffee and staring at all the snowflakes, and all I could think about was showing them to Mireya. I can’t wait until it snows next winter and I can hold her up to the window, point at the snow and say, “Look! Isn’t it pretty?” I can just picture her looking out at it all wide-eyed and grinning. Then when she gets older I can help her build snow forts and snowmen. I haven’t even met her and I can already see her running around the yard in her little pink snowsuit. I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited for the snow! I just wish I could show it to her this year!

I felt her move!!

Alright, so I have been feeling weird things for about 3 weeks now, but this evening was the first time I’m positive that what I felt was the baby. I was falling asleep on the couch when I felt a very definite “kick”. It woke me right up! For the next five or ten minutes I felt several big “kicks” and quite a few more subtle movements. It’s so exciting to actually feel her instead of just knowing that she’s in there moving and growing! I can’t wait until I feel her all the time. It will be really great when Jason can feel her too.

She’s on her way!

Her estimated due date is set for March 20, 2010. Here we will keep family and friends updated on her progress. We will post ultrasound photos, heart beats, mom’s growing belly, etc. We already have all the ultrasound photos from the first 19 weeks posted along with descriptions so you know what you’re looking at.
